YouTube TV has officially launched its new customizable Multiview feature, giving subscribers the ability to watch up to four live streams at once—and choose exactly which channels to include. This long-awaited upgrade goes beyond just sports, adding support for news, weather, and more entertainment content.
In a post on X, YouTube TV teased the new flexibility:
“Multiview isn’t just for sports anymore. It’s for the shows you pretend are ‘just on in the background’ (but secretly know every line).”
Previously limited to preset sports streams since its 2023 debut, Multiview now supports a wide range of channels including ESPN, Fox Sports 1, CNN, MSNBC, BBC News, and The Weather Channel. For the first time, users can mix sports, news, and other live content in one screen.
To use it, subscribers can head to the “Home” tab, choose a live game or channel, and tap “Watch in Multiview.” The new “Build a Multiview” option lets them select up to four eligible live channels from a curated list, depending on what’s available.
While not all 100+ YouTube TV channels are currently supported—due to backend processing requirements—the feature still represents a major leap forward. Google says more channels will be added soon.
This update is available on smart TVs, Roku, Apple TV, iPhones, and iPads, and works across devices thanks to server-side streaming. As YouTube TV surpasses 10 million subscribers, it continues to stand out as a top cable alternative for sports fans, news junkies, and multitaskers alike.
