Nothing OS 3.0

Nothing has announced Nothing OS 3.0, based on Android 15, promising several significant enhancements aimed at improving user experience.

Release Date

The open beta for Nothing OS 3.0 began in early October 2024, with a stable release expected by the end of December 2024.

New Features

  1. UI and Animation Changes: The Dot Matrix font has been replaced with a cleaner sans-serif font. New Dot Matrix animations enhance fingerprint recognition and charging indicators.
  2. New Quick Settings Panel: The Quick Settings menu has been redesigned for more tiles and customization options, making frequently used features more accessible.
  3. Smart App Drawer: An AI-powered app drawer categorizes apps automatically, allowing users to pin favorite apps at the top for quick access.
  4. Lock Screen Customization: Users can customize lock screens with new clock styles and an expanded widget area for additional widgets.
  5. New Widgets: Introduces countdown widgets and shared widgets that allow users to share content like photos or step counts.
  6. Gallery App Improvements: The revamped gallery app enhances photo management and improves speed when accessing images.
  7. Enhanced Battery Management: New features include a custom charging mode and a charging assistant that notifies users of slow chargers.

Supported Devices

Nothing OS 3.0 will be available for:

  • Nothing Phone (2a)
  • Nothing Phone (2a) Plus
  • Nothing Phone (2)
  • Nothing Phone (1)
  • CMF Phone 1

The rollout will begin with the Nothing Phone (2a), followed by other models.
