Netflix has confirmed that the integration of its content into the Apple TV app was an unintended feature.
Some Apple TV app users had recently reported seeing Netflix shows in the app, with the option to pick up watching from where they left off. This sparked excitement, hinting at a possible partnership between the streaming giants.
However, Netflix has since clarified that the feature was not planned and was only visible to a small group of users. The streaming service has rolled back the integration and stated that it does not expect this to become a permanent feature.
The Apple TV app, which serves as a hub for Apple TV Plus content, MLS games, and content from other streaming services, has long been missing Netflix.
While this recent experiment seemed promising, it’s clear Netflix intends to keep its content separate from Apple’s platform for the time being.
This comes after Netflix’s January price hikes, further fueling user frustration. While the integration would have made content more accessible and seamless, it seems Netflix is not yet ready to collaborate on such features.
