Nicki Minaj Responds to TIDAL Deal Drama: Calls Out Jay-Z on Social Media

Nicki Minaj has given her approval as her fans call out Jay-Z over the controversy surrounding the TIDAL streaming service deal. The issue resurfaced online after fans revisited claims that Minaj did not receive her full payout when TIDAL was sold to Square for $302 million.

On July 3, Minaj took to social media to react to her fans’ posts. One fan tweeted, “#jayz owes Nicki Minaj money & a apology,” while another wrote, “#JayZ should of paid Nicki Minaj her cut of the Tidal deal.”

Nicki responded to each with emojis, including an exasperated face and a laughing-crying face, signaling her agreement and support.

According to Minaj, she was promised a larger payout as an artist partner in TIDAL, but only received an offer of $1 million instead of the $9 million she believes she was owed. The deal also allegedly required her to respond within 24 hours, which she declined.

Tension between Nicki Minaj and Jay-Z has been heightened since the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show, which featured Kendrick Lamar instead of Lil Wayne. The ongoing dispute has become a recurring topic among Minaj’s fans online, and Jay-Z has yet to publicly address the situation.

While much of the current drama is based on claims from Nicki’s side and her supporters, fans are hoping for a resolution between the two icons before things escalate further.
