Most iPhone Users Say Apple’s AI Features Add Little Value

A new survey by SellCell reveals that while AI is an important factor for iPhone buyers, many users are unimpressed by the current Apple Intelligence features.

Nearly 48% of iPhone users consider AI a key factor when purchasing a smartphone, compared to just 24% of Samsung users.

However, most users find the existing Apple Intelligence features lacking, with 73% of iPhone users rating them as either “not very valuable” or “adding little to no value.”

The survey highlighted that the most popular Apple Intelligence features before iOS 18.2 included Writing Tools (72%), Notification Summaries (54%), and Priority Messages (44.5%). Features like Smart Reply in Mail and Messages (20.9%) were less favored.

The update to iOS 18.2, which introduced Genmoji and ChatGPT integration, might change this perception. Genmoji allows users to generate custom emojis using AI, while ChatGPT integration enhances Siri’s capabilities by providing more detailed responses to certain queries.

As these new features roll out, it remains to be seen if they will shift the general sentiment towards Apple’s AI offerings.
