FUTURE Announces New Mixtape

Future (rapper)

Early Wednesday morning (May 8), Future shared posts on X, announcing he has a new mixtape release coming soon.

This will be Future’s first solo mixtape since Purple Reign in 2016. The last solo album he released was I Never Liked You in 2022.

It’s only May but Future has already had a big year. First, he released the album We Don’t Trust You with Metro Boomin in March. This album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 251,000 equivalent album sales, making it the biggest debut of the year so far.

The single “Like That” featuring Kendrick Lamar from the album also debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and stayed at No. 1 for three straight weeks. Future and Metro then released another album called We Still Don’t Trust You on April 12, which also debuted at No. 1.

If Future’s new mixtape reaches No. 1, he would join a small group of only nine artists who have released three or more No. 1 albums in a single year on the Billboard chart. None of those nine artists are rappers.

On May 10, Future dropped a new song with Tee Grizzley which could be a part of the mixtape he’s hinting at.

Future’s new project is coming out while he seems to be part of an industry beef with Drake, though Future hasn’t said much about it himself. However, he may address it on his new mixtape.
