In a recent interview at the DICE Summit in Las Vegas, Marvel Rivals producer Weicong Wu shared exciting news about the possibility of the popular 6v6 hero shooter coming to the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.
Wu revealed that NetEase Games is already in discussions with Nintendo, working on development kits for the new console.
However, he emphasized that a final decision depends on the game’s performance on the Switch 2, stating, “Whenever we find that we could provide great performance for our game on Switch 2, we’re open to that.”
Marvel Rivals has gained a substantial player base on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, but was absent from the original Nintendo Switch due to hardware limitations.
Wu explained that the Switch’s hardware couldn’t deliver the optimal experience for the game’s performance demands.
With the rumored enhanced processing power and graphics of the Switch 2, these issues could be resolved, but specific hardware details are yet to be officially confirmed.
Although the discussions are still in early stages, the potential for Marvel Rivals to appear on the Switch 2 is generating excitement among fans.
The game’s reliance on high-resolution graphics and stable frame rates makes its performance on the new console a key consideration for both NetEase Games and Nintendo.
As the release of the Switch 2 draws closer, the gaming community will be eagerly awaiting official announcements to see whether this collaboration becomes a reality, marking a potential turning point for third-party titles on Nintendo’s next-generation console.
