Mafia: The Old Country has officially received its release window, with a Summer 2025 launch confirmed during The Game Awards 2024.
The game will delve into the origins of organized crime, transporting players to early 20th-century Italy.
Set before the events of previous Mafia titles, it will explore the roots of the criminal underworld through the story of Enzo Favara.
The trailer, which lasted just over a minute, showcased a distinct shift from previous Mafia games.
Unlike its predecessors, which took place in 1930s, 40s, and 60s America, The Old Country will bring players to Italy, where modern technology is largely absent.
The gameplay footage was light, but it emphasized the story elements, with Enzo Favara taking the Oath of Omertà , a pledge central to organized crime.
This marks the first major Mafia title since 2016’s Mafia 3, and the first new game in the series since the 2020 Mafia Definitive Edition.
The announcement comes alongside other major releases from Take-Two Interactive, including Grand Theft Auto 6, slated for Fall 2025.
Fans of the franchise can look forward to immersing themselves in Italy’s criminal past next summer.
