The iPhone 17 Pro is rumored to feature its first major front design change since the iPhone 14 Pro.
According to a leak from Chinese outlet My Drivers, the Dynamic Island will be smaller, thanks to a new metalens Face ID system.
Unlike traditional curved lenses, metalens uses nanostructured materials, making it flat and compact.
This could allow Apple to reduce the size of the Dynamic Island without compromising functionality. However, Face ID won’t move behind the screen just yet.

While analyst Jeff Pu predicts the metalens technology will only appear on the Pro Max model, other models might retain the current-sized Dynamic Island.
