Leaked renders of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 have surfaced online, and they reveal one clear thing — not much is changing this year. The next clamshell foldable from Samsung looks almost identical to its predecessor.
Reports suggest the phone will launch in July. However, attention may shift to bigger devices like the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the new Galaxy Z Wide Fold, which are expected to bring more major updates.
Same Look, Same Feel
The leaked images show a design that closely matches the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7. It keeps the same clamshell style, dual outer cameras, and overall shape. At first glance, most users would struggle to tell the difference.
Only One Real Change
The only noticeable tweak is the size. The Flip 8 is expected to be about 0.5mm thinner when folded. Other dimensions remain almost the same, making this one of the smallest updates in recent years.
Display Stays the Same
Screen sizes are also unchanged. The main display is still expected to be 6.9 inches, while the outer screen remains at 4.1 inches. This means the viewing experience will feel very familiar to existing users.
Upgrades Inside the Phone
While the outside looks the same, there are some improvements under the hood. The device could run on the Exynos 2600 chip, which should bring better performance. There are also rumours of a slightly bigger battery and a less noticeable crease on the folding screen.
Not Trying to Steal the Spotlight
Samsung may not be aiming to make the Flip 8 its main highlight this year. With newer foldables entering the lineup, the company seems to be focusing on bigger innovations elsewhere.
A Safe but Solid Update
Even without big changes, the Flip 8 could still be a strong option. The Flip 7 already set a high standard, and this new model looks like a refined version rather than a complete redesign.
