BTS member Jung Kook has released a festive cover of the classic song “The Christmas Song”, offering fans a warm holiday gift just days before Christmas.

The track, originally made famous by Nat King Cole, highlights Jung Kook’s smooth vocals and stripped-back musical style. The release comes as anticipation builds for BTS’ long-awaited reunion in 2026.

    A Classic Reimagined

Jung Kook’s version stays faithful to the original while adding his own modern touch.

Key features of the cover include:

    • Soft, ambient keyboard instrumentation
    • Layered harmonies created by Jung Kook himself
    • A relaxed jazz-inspired vocal delivery

He performs the original lyrics without changes, ending with the well-known line wishing a “Merry Christmas” to listeners aged “1 to 92.”

A Song With a Long History

“The Christmas Song” was first recorded in 1946 by Nat King Cole and The King Cole Trio.

    Notable milestones:

    • Became an instant holiday classic
    • A solo version charted on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1960
    • Reached a peak of No. 6 on the chart in 2025

Jung Kook’s cover pays tribute to the song’s jazz roots while introducing it to a new global audience.

    A Gift for ARMY

The release is widely seen as a year-end message to ARMY, BTS’ global fanbase.

BTS is expected to reunite in spring 2026 after completing South Korea’s mandatory military service and focusing on solo projects. Plans include:

    • A new group album
    • A world tour

In a recent interview, Jung Kook described the upcoming period as especially meaningful.

“I think this spring will be more important than ever,” he said, adding that he hopes fans have a safe and enjoyable year ahead.

    Looking Ahead

With its calm arrangement and classic feel, Jung Kook’s holiday cover arrives at a pivotal moment — closing out a year of solo activities while building excitement for BTS’ return.

The song is now available across major streaming platforms.
