Jon Batiste has achieved his first No. 1 on Billboard’s Classical Albums chart with Beethoven Blues, his debut solo piano album.
The project, which features interpretations of Ludwig van Beethoven’s classic works, also debuts at No. 1 on the Classical Crossover Albums chart.
In its first week, Beethoven Blues made a significant impact, selling 13,000 copies in the U.S., marking Batiste’s best sales week ever.
The album also enters at No. 64 on the Billboard 200, his highest debut to date. The album’s sales were boosted by its availability in various formats, including four vinyl variants and two CD editions, one of which was signed.
Batiste, known for his Grammy and Academy Award wins, previously charted seven top 10 jazz albums, but this marks his first foray into the classical genre. Beethoven Blues continues to make waves as a crossover success.
Elsewhere on the Top Album Sales chart, ATEEZ’s GOLDEN HOUR: Part.2 debuts at No. 1, while Linkin Park’s From Zero and Jin’s Happy also make notable debuts.
