Atlanta rapper JID has released a surprise mixtape titled GDLU (Preluxe), just months ahead of his upcoming full-length album.
The new project features four tracks and highlights JID’s skillful wordplay, fast-paced delivery, and collaborative energy.
Released without prior announcement, GDLU (Preluxe) brings together some of hip-hop’s most notable names:
“Behold” features vibrant production from TU!, Christo, and Reggie Golden.
“Lisa” includes a smooth, melodic appearance from R&B artist 6LACK.
“Animals” sees Eminem deliver a rapid-fire guest verse in his signature aggressive style.
Lil Yachty also joins JID on the tape, though the track title featuring him hasn’t been officially highlighted.
While the release is brief, JID uses the Preluxe to build momentum for his forthcoming album, expected later this year. The mixtape showcases his ability to blend sharp lyricism with experimental beats and high-profile features.
