iPhones Can Now Send Texts Without Signal or Wi-Fi

Apple has introduced a feature in iOS 18 that allows iPhones to send text messages without requiring a mobile signal or Wi-Fi.

The feature, which uses satellites for communication, is available on iPhone 14 models and later.

It is free for two years after activation, and it is not limited to emergencies—normal texting is supported.

The feature can be tested ahead of time and is useful in areas without network coverage.

Users must have iMessage activated and be outdoors with a clear view of the sky to ensure a proper connection.
