Apple is gearing up to release iOS 18.4, and it’s set to be a feature-packed update. Expected in April 2025, this version will introduce major Siri upgrades, expanded Apple Intelligence support, new emojis, and more. Here’s what to expect.
Apple Intelligence will make Siri more context-aware. With on-screen recognition and deeper app control, Siri will understand more about what you’re doing and respond accordingly.
However, Apple Intelligence will only be available on iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and upcoming iPhone 16 models.
Currently, Apple Intelligence only supports localized English in a handful of regions. But with iOS 18.4, more languages are coming, including:
Apple’s AI-powered notification summaries have been inconsistent, sometimes delivering inaccurate or misleading information. Apple has promised improvements, so iOS 18.4 may finally bring more reliable summaries.
Following the trend of previous iOS updates, iOS 18.4 is expected to introduce new emoji, including:
Thanks to the EU’s Digital Markets Act, iPhone users in Europe will soon be able to set Google Maps, Waze, or other navigation apps as their default. They’ll also be able to switch their default translation app to Google Translate or Microsoft Translator.
These options will appear in the “Default Apps” section in Settings.
Apple has been working on robot vacuum integration for the Home app. While hints of this appeared in iOS 18.3’s code, the feature wasn’t live.
With iOS 18.4, you might finally be able to control robot vacuums directly in the Home app and with Siri commands.
Apple is expected to release iOS 18.4 in April 2025, after several weeks of beta testing. It will be available for iPhone XR and later.
