Apple’s iOS 18.2 update introduces a faster way to send messages to Siri and ChatGPT. This new feature is part of a series of updates that aim to improve how users interact with their devices.

In iOS 18.2, Apple has added a quicker method for activating the “Type to Siri” feature.

Users can now access this feature directly from the Control Center or by setting it up on the iPhone’s Action Button. This makes it easier to send text requests to Siri or ChatGPT without needing to speak.

Here’s how to set it up:

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Go to Action Button.
  3. Select Controls.
  4. Choose Type to Siri from the menu.

If you prefer not to change your Action Button, you can also add the Type to Siri control to your Lock Screen, replacing the Flashlight or Camera button. This can be done through the Lock Screen editing mode.

For those who have used “Type to Siri” before, this update makes it more accessible. It now works not only with the double-tap gesture but also from the Action Button, Lock Screen, and Control Center.

A useful tip: Combine Type to Siri with keyboard text replacements for even faster access. For example, you can set a shortcut to quickly start a request to ChatGPT.

This update makes Siri and ChatGPT messaging more convenient, especially for users who prefer typing over speaking.
