Unlike the usual ChatGPT chats where users ask questions and get answers, “Study Together” encourages active participation. The AI breaks down complex subjects into smaller parts and checks students’ answers as they progress. Some reports suggest the feature may also allow friends to study together online, though this is not confirmed.
The feature has appeared in limited tests since May 2025 and is gradually becoming visible to more users. However, OpenAI has not officially announced the full details or a release date.
