Huawei’s newly launched Mate 70 series is creating a buzz, with over 6.7 million reservations in China.
The lineup, which includes the Mate 70, Mate 70 Pro, Mate 70 Pro+, and Mate 70 RS Ultimate Design, is available through Huaweiโs Vmall store and third-party retailers.
These reservations, though non-binding and free, showcase strong demand, even if slightly below last yearโs Mate 60 series. Analysts suggest that Huawei’s homegrown Kirin 9020 chipset could face production challenges, potentially delaying deliveries.
Despite trailing behind the latest 3nm chips, the Kirin 9020 offers a 30% performance boost over its predecessor, the Kirin 9010.
Pricing starts at CNY5,499 for the Mate 70, while the premium Mate 70 RS Ultimate Edition costs CNY11,999.
With manufacturing under pressure, initial supplies might fall short, reinforcing the series’ high demand.
