Hidden Zoom Feature Makes iPhone Calendar More Useful

Apple’s iOS 18 update has added a clever hidden feature to the iPhone Calendar app. Users can now pinch and zoom in the Month view to see different levels of detail about their events.

The new feature lets users customize how much information they see. At the smallest zoom level, users see simple dots marking days with events. Zooming in shows colored bars for different calendars.

Zoom in more to see event titles, and even further to view event times. The maximum zoom shows expanded daily views with plenty of space for multiple events.

Before iOS 18, the Calendar’s Month view on iPhone was basic, only showing dots for days with events. The new version offers three preset views – Compact, Stacked, and Details – but the pinch-to-zoom feature gives users more control over their calendar display.

This update makes the Calendar app more practical for different users. People with busy schedules can zoom in to see detailed daily events, while those with fewer appointments can zoom out to see a broader overview while still keeping event details visible.

The change comes alongside other iOS 18 Calendar improvements, including integration with Apple Reminders, updated design elements, and AI features. These updates make Apple’s built-in Calendar app a more compelling choice for iPhone users.
