Google has announced its latest smartphones, the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL, introducing a faster processor, magnetic wireless charging, and a wide range of artificial intelligence features.

The new devices, available for preorder now and launching on 28 August, are priced at $799 for the Pixel 10, $999 for the Pixel 10 Pro, and $1,199 for the 256GB Pro XL. Unlike previous years, there is no lower-cost 128GB Pro XL option.

    New Processor and Charging System

All three phones come with the Tensor G5 chip, the first Pixel processor manufactured by TSMC rather than Samsung. Google says the chip delivers a 34% faster CPU and a 60% improvement in AI performance compared with the previous generation.

The series also debuts Qi2 wireless charging with a MagSafe-style system called Pixelsnap. This adds magnets to the back of the devices, allowing compatibility with a wide range of magnetic accessories. The Pixel 10 and 10 Pro support 15W charging, while the Pro XL supports the faster 25W Qi2.2 standard.

    Camera Changes

For the first time, the base Pixel 10 includes a telephoto camera, but its main and ultrawide sensors are smaller than those on the Pro models.

    • Pixel 10: 48MP main sensor, 13MP ultrawide, 5x telephoto
    • Pixel 10 Pro / Pro XL: 50MP main sensor, 48MP ultrawide, advanced zoom capabilities

Google has also introduced AI-assisted zoom on the Pro models, using generative AI to add detail to photos taken above 30x zoom. These images are labelled in Google Photos as AI-edited.

    AI-Powered Features

Artificial intelligence is central to the Pixel 10 lineup, with several new tools designed to save time and improve usability:

    • Magic Cue: Suggests text or details based on context, such as pulling an address from an email when needed in a message.
    • AI Camera Coach: Provides tips for improving photo composition.
    • Magic Editor: Allows photo editing using text prompts.
    • Journal app: Summarises daily entries with emojis and prompts.
    • Voice Translate: Offers real-time call translations using a voice that mimics the other speaker.

Google says these features run entirely on-device and do not store long-term user data.

    Other Updates

    • Display: Slightly brighter across all models.
    • Battery: Pixel 10 at 4,970mAh, Pixel 10 Pro at 4,870mAh, and Pixel 10 Pro XL at 5,200mAh, each larger than the previous generation.
    • eSIM-only: US versions of the Pixel 10 series no longer include a physical SIM slot, offering dual active eSIM support and storage for multiple profiles.

    Availability

The Pixel 10 series will be available globally from 28 August 2025. Pricing begins at $799 for the base model and goes up to $1,199 for the Pixel 10 Pro XL.
