HBO’s highly anticipated series updates were shared at the Wells Fargo TMT Summit, where JB Perrette, CEO of Global Streaming for Warner Bros.
Discovery, confirmed that Euphoria Season 3, starring Zendaya, is scheduled for a 2026 return. This comes as no surprise, as filming for the new season wonโt begin until early 2025.
In addition to Euphoria, Perrette also revealed that The White Lotus will return with its Thailand-set third season, premiering in February 2025.
The cast for this season includes Walton Goggins, Carrie Coon, Michelle Monaghan, and Blackpinkโs Lisa, among others.
For The Last of Us fans, Season 2 is on track for a Q2 2025 debut, while the new Game of Thrones prequel, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, is expected to premiere later in 2025, likely in the fourth quarter.
HBO’s strategy for 2025 and beyond is centered around maintaining a steady stream of high-profile content.
With House of the Dragon 2 and The White Lotus both returning in early 2025, followed by The Last of Us, and then smaller-scale Game of Thrones spin-offs, the network aims to deliver two or three major tentpole series each year.
Looking further ahead, the long-awaited Harry Potter series is casting for its 2026-2027 debut, marking the start of a decade-long journey that is expected to be a major event in the TV landscape.
Regarding Euphoria‘s future, despite delays, the third season is confirmed, with eight episodes and a time jump from Season 2, which aired in 2022. Perrette also mentioned that HBO plans to release two DC series annually, starting with Creature Commandos and Peacemaker Season 2, while also working on DC Lanterns.
