Eminem has once again shown love to one of his Hip Hop idols, Redman, after the release of Muddy Waters Too, the sequel to Redman’s classic 1996 album.
The Detroit rapper took to social media to express his excitement, writing on X (formerly Twitter):
“One of my all time favorite rappers [goat emojis] … man I been waiting for this @therealredman #muddywaters.”
Redman reposted the tweet but has yet to comment on Eminem’s praise.
Muddy Waters Too: A Star-Studded Album
Released on December 24, Muddy Waters Too spans 32 tracks and features collaborations with several Hip Hop legends.
The album includes appearances from Method Man, Snoop Dogg, KRS-One, Faith Evans, Sheek Louch, and Kid Capri.
It also boasts an all-New Jersey posse cut featuring Queen Latifah, Shaquille O’Neal, Naughty By Nature, Rah Digga, and more.
Eminem’s Longstanding Admiration for Redman
Eminem has consistently praised Redman throughout his career. On his 2002 hit “‘Till I Collapse,” Eminem ranked Redman at the top of his list of favorite MCs, rapping:
“I got a list, here’s the order of my list that it’s in / It goes: Reggie, JAY-Z, 2Pac and Biggie / André from OutKast, Jada, Kurupt, Nas, and then me.”
In 2015, Eminem shared a story about visiting Redman’s house during his early days in New York. He recalled the moment on Shade 45 radio, saying, “I took a picture of your house on some fan shit.” Redman responded warmly, calling Eminem one of his favorite artists.
A Mutual Respect
Redman has also shown his support for Eminem. Last year, he shared a photo of Eminem wearing a T-shirt referencing his iconic ‘Till I Collapse lyrics, encouraging fans to buy the original design.
The mutual admiration between these two Hip Hop icons highlights their respect for each other’s artistry and contributions to the genre.
With Muddy Waters Too, Redman cements his legacy, earning praise from one of rap’s greatest voices.
