ElevenLabs has introduced GenFM, a feature on its Reader iOS app that creates AI-generated podcasts from uploaded content like YouTube videos, texts, or documents. It supports 32 languages and automatically selects two voices from over a dozen available options.
A unique aspect of GenFM is its addition of human-like elements, such as “ums”, “ahs”, and pauses, to make the conversation feel more natural.
ElevenLabs plans to expand the tool with more customization options and the ability to add multiple sources for richer podcasts.
This launch puts ElevenLabs in direct competition with Google’s NotebookLM, which also generates AI conversations.
ElevenLabs recently expanded by investing $11 million in the Polish startup ecosystem and entering India.
