Drake Takes a Shot After Fans Chant Against Kendrick Lamar at Wireless

Canadian rapper Drake responded to an anti-Kendrick Lamar chant during his headline performance at the Wireless Festival on Saturday night. The incident happened during the second night of the event, where Drake performed as part of his “Drake & The Mandem” showcase alongside UK artists Central Cee, J Hus, and Dave.

During his set, Drake told the crowd, “Three nights headlining, three different sets, three different vibes. Name another artist that can do that and bring him up here and we can clash right now.” The audience then began chanting “F**k Kendrick,” referring to Drake’s ongoing rivalry with American rapper Kendrick Lamar.

Drake paused briefly, removed his headset to hear the chant more clearly, and casually responded, “Chubbs, grab me a shot, I’ll drink to that.” After taking the drink, he added, “Y’all thought y’all could knock The Boy off for real?” The crowd replied with a loud “no” before Drake performed his song “NOKIA.”

The moment highlighted the continued tension between Drake and Lamar. The feud recently intensified after Kendrick Lamar’s diss track Not Like Us, which led to Drake filing a defamation lawsuit against Universal Music Group.

On the first night of the festival, Drake did not mention Kendrick Lamar directly. That performance featured guests including PARTYNEXTDOOR, Bryson Tiller, Mario, Bobby V, and Lauryn Hill.

Wireless Festival’s third night will include performances by Burna Boy and Vybz Kartel, with more surprise guests expected. Meanwhile, Drake will continue his European tour, Some Special Shows 4 U, alongside PARTYNEXTDOOR, with dates running through September.
