OpenAI has introduced ChatGPT Go, a new low-cost subscription plan, now available in a wide range of countries, including India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Africa, and more.

The plan starts at $5 per month (about Rs 399 in India) and is designed for students, professionals, developers, and creators who want advanced AI features at an affordable price.

ChatGPT Go gives users extended access to OpenAI’s latest GPT-5 model, offering sharper reasoning, faster responses, and smoother conversations compared to the free plan. Subscribers also get higher message limits—up to ten times more usage than the free version.

The plan includes multimodal tools, allowing users to generate images and analyze files such as documents and spreadsheets. It also supports advanced data analysis using Python and other tools, making it useful for complex problem-solving. A longer memory helps ChatGPT remember more past conversations for personalized interactions.

Users can organize projects and tasks, and create custom GPTs tailored to their specific needs. ChatGPT Go also offers improved support for Indic languages, reflecting its focus on the Indian market.

OpenAI emphasizes that ChatGPT Go balances affordability and functionality. Some high-end enterprise features, like deep research mode, agent mode, advanced connectors, and video generation, remain exclusive to higher-tier plans.

Currently, ChatGPT Go is available only in select countries, with India being the first market. OpenAI is monitoring its adoption closely and may expand the plan to other regions in the future.
