CD Projekt’s sales revenue took a significant hit in Q3 2024, plunging by 49% year-on-year, dropping from €102.7 million ($107.5m) to €52.8 million ($55.2m).
Despite the financial decline, the company reported strong sales for Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3, with total Cyberpunk 2077 sales reaching 30 million copies and its expansion, Phantom Liberty, selling over 8 million copies.
However, sales for Cyberpunk 2077 and its expansion were down 67% compared to last year. In contrast, The Witcher saw a 44% increase in sales.
CD Projekt’s overall performance for the year also showed a decline, with a 15% drop in sales and a 14% decrease in net profitability. R&D and product maintenance costs rose by 25%, while the company’s workforce remained relatively stable, growing from 639 to 650 developers.
Much of the studio’s resources are now focused on Project Polaris, the first installment of a new Witcher trilogy.
The company confirmed it has moved into full-scale production on this project, marking a key milestone in its development.
