BTS’ V Scores Another No. 1 with “Winter Ahead”

BTS member V continues his solo success with his latest single, “Winter Ahead,” a collaboration with South Korean vocalist Park Hyo Shin. The track debuted at No. 1 on the U.K.’s Official Singles Downloads chart, marking V’s third chart-topping hit on this list.

For Park Hyo Shin, this achievement represents his first No. 1 in the U.K., solidifying the collaboration as a significant milestone for both artists.

V’s momentum as a solo artist has been building since the release of his debut album, Layover, last year. “Winter Ahead” is one of several standalone singles he’s released in 2024, showing his versatility and continued appeal.

This marks his second No. 1 of the year on the Official Singles Downloads chart, following the earlier success of “Fri(end)s” in March. His streak began in 2023 with the single “Slow Dancing,” cementing his position as a solo force.

The success of “Winter Ahead” isn’t limited to the downloads chart. The single debuted at No. 2 on the Official Singles Sales chart, only narrowly missing the top spot due to the resurgence of Band Aid’s “Do They Know It’s Christmas?”. On the broader U.K. charts, “Winter Ahead” entered at No. 86, reflecting its growing popularity across multiple platforms.

This winter-themed single isn’t V’s only seasonal release. Shortly after “Winter Ahead,” he unveiled a reimagined version of Bing Crosby’s classic “White Christmas,” showcasing his love for holiday music.

While “Winter Ahead” has already made waves, the reworked “White Christmas” is expected to chart in the coming weeks, further cementing V’s seasonal dominance.

With this latest achievement, V continues to solidify his global impact as a solo artist, effortlessly blending South Korean artistry with international success.
