BTS member J-Hope’s new single “Killin’ It Girl” is gaining huge popularity, crossing 11 million views on YouTube. Fans praise its energetic choreography and bold style.

However, the music video is now facing plagiarism accusations from some Blackpink fans. They say the video looks too similar to Blackpink’s Lisa’s 2024 single “Rockstar.”

The controversy centers around visual elements in the videos. Both music videos use bright colors, star-themed costumes, urban street settings, and some similar camera angles. Some fans claim J-Hope copied Lisa’s concept. On social media, the hashtag “Copystar” trended as Blackpink fans voiced their opinions.

Many BLINKs (Blackpink fans) argue that Lisa’s “Rockstar” was the original and accuse HYBE, BTS’s label, of copying. Some posted that J-Hope’s video lacks originality and that Lisa sets the standard in K-pop. Others pointed to specific scenes like dancing in the streets and star symbols as copied ideas.

On the other hand, ARMYs (BTS fans) strongly defended J-Hope. They said that stars and street dancing are common themes in music videos and that the similarities are just coincidence. Many ARMYs praised J-Hope’s unique style and long history of street dance. Some even suggested a friendly collaboration between J-Hope and Lisa to settle the matter.

J-Hope recently performed “Killin’ It Girl” live for the first time during the finale of his Hope In The Stage concert in Seoul, adding to the excitement around the new release.

The debate continues online as fans from both groups passionately discuss their favorite stars.
