Bryan Johnson, a tech entrepreneur from Utah, is spending millions of dollars every year in his quest to reverse aging and live forever.
He is the subject of Netflix’s new documentary Don’t Die: The Man Who Wants to Live Forever, which premiered on January 1, 2025.
Johnson, 47, has dedicated the past four years to following the latest longevity science, spending up to $2 million annually on treatments and routines designed to extend his life.
He sold his company, Braintree, for $300 million in 2013 and used part of the money to develop a life-extension system called Blueprint. Johnsonโs goal is to reduce his biological age to that of an 18-year-old.
Early Life and Personal Background
Johnson grew up in Springville, Utah, and was raised in a Mormon family. He later left the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 2013, following a period of depression.
He has three children from his first marriage, and his son, Talmage, has joined him in following the Blueprint lifestyle.
Living Forever with Technology
Johnsonโs daily routine includes taking 54 pills, eating pounds of vegetables, working out for an hour, and going to bed by 8:30 p.m.
He also undergoes regular medical tests and treatments, including controversial gene therapies and plasma exchanges. He even swapped blood with his father and son in an attempt to slow aging.
Controversial Experiments
Not all of Johnsonโs experiments have been successful. In 2024, he posted about a failed fat injection treatment for his face, which caused his face to swell dramatically before returning to normal.
Legal Issues
Johnson was also involved in a legal battle with his ex-fiancรฉe, Taryn Southern, who sued him after he allegedly left her when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. The case was dismissed in 2021.
Bryan Johnsonโs journey to immortality is filled with groundbreaking and controversial methods. While some of his attempts have been successful, others have raised questions.
His story, captured in Don’t Die, offers a glimpse into the lengths heโs willing to go to defy death.
