BLACKPINK, the South Korean girl group that took the world by storm in 2016, has proven that their talents extend far beyond their collective success.

Each member – ROSÉ, JENNIE, JISOO, and LISA – has embarked on solo ventures, showcasing their individual artistry and versatility.

    Timeline of BLACKPINK Solo Releases:

    1. 2012: ROSÉ – “Without You” (with G-Dragon)
    2. 2013: JENNIE – “Special” (with Lee Hi), “GG Be” (with Seungri), “Black” (with G-Dragon)
    3. 2018: JENNIE – “Solo”
    4. 2021: ROSÉ – “On the Ground”, “Gone”
    5. 2021: LISA – “Lalisa”, “Money”
    6. 2021: LISA – “SG” (with DJ Snake, Ozuna & Megan Thee Stallion)
    7. 2023: JISOO – “Flower”, “All Eyes On Me”
    8. 2023: LISA – “Shoong!” (with Taeyang)
    9. 2023: JENNIE – “One of the Girls” (The Idol soundtrack)
    10. 2023: JENNIE – “You & Me”
    11. 2024: JENNIE – “Slow Motion” (with Matt Champion), “Spot!” (with Zico)
    12. 2024: LISA – “Rockstar“

    The Solo Journey Begins

Interestingly, some members dipped their toes into solo work even before BLACKPINK’s debut. ROSÉ featured on G-Dragon’s “Without You” in 2012, while JENNIE collaborated with several YG Entertainment artists in 2013. However, it wasn’t until 2018 that the first official solo project emerged, with JENNIE’s aptly titled single “Solo.”

ROSÉ and LISA: 2021 Breakout Year

2021 marked a significant year for BLACKPINK’s solo projects. ROSÉ released her two-track EP “R,” featuring “On the Ground,” which impressively debuted at No. 70 on the Billboard Hot 100. LISA followed suit with her singles “Lalisa” and “Money,” quickly expanding her reach with the star-studded collaboration “SG” alongside DJ Snake, Ozuna, and Megan Thee Stallion.

    JISOO Completes the Solo Lineup

In 2023, JISOO became the final member to release solo music with her EP “ME.” The lead single “Flower” made a stunning debut at No. 2 on the Billboard Global 200, cementing JISOO’s place as a formidable solo artist.

    Recent Developments

The solo momentum has continued into 2024. JENNIE featured on tracks by Matt Champion and Zico, while LISA released her edgy single “Rockstar” in June, marking her first release under RCA Records and her own LLOUD company.

    Beyond Music

It’s worth noting that the members’ solo ventures aren’t limited to music. JENNIE, for instance, made her acting debut in HBO’s “The Idol” in 2023, contributing to the show’s soundtrack as well.

As BLACKPINK celebrates their eighth year as a group, their individual projects continue to evolve and impress. From collaborations with international artists to chart-topping solo releases, ROSÉ, JENNIE, JISOO, and LISA have proven that they’re not just components of a successful group, but formidable artists in their own right.

With each member now established in their solo careers, fans can look forward to a diverse array of music and projects from the BLACKPINK members, both collectively and individually, in the years to come.
