Apple Removes iPhone SE, 14, and 14 Plus from Swiss Store in Anticipation of EU USB-C Law

In preparation for a European Union regulation requiring all new phones to have USB-C ports by December 28, Apple has started removing the iPhone SE, iPhone 14, and iPhone 14 Plus from its Swiss online store.

These models, which still feature Apple’s proprietary Lightning port, are no longer available for purchase in Switzerland, although they remain in stock in other EU countries like France and Spain.

This move comes ahead of the EU’s deadline for USB-C adoption, which has already influenced Apple’s shift to USB-C with the iPhone 15 in 2023.

A fourth-generation iPhone SE, expected in early 2025, is rumored to feature USB-C and other upgrades, such as an OLED display.

Apple has yet to comment on the early removal of these models from its Swiss store or whether other countries will follow suit.
