Barbra Streisand, the legendary singer and actress, has announced the release of a new album featuring duets with an array of music stars. At 83, Streisand continues her six-decade career with “The Secret Of Life: Partners, Volume Two,” collaborating with artists such as Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Sam Smith, Ariana Grande, and Mariah Carey.

The album arrives less than two years after the publication of her 970-page memoir, “My Name Is Barbra,” and while she is also working on a documentary about her life. Despite her ongoing projects, Streisand described herself as not liking to work and preferring a life free from commitments. She credits her longtime producer Jay Landers for encouraging her to record new music.

Speaking about her new record, Streisand said she first chooses the song, then the duet partner best suited to it. “The music and the lyrics come first,” she explained. The album features a range of emotional themes, including songs about loss and missed opportunities in love.

Streisand also discussed her experience with past film projects, noting that she felt she was not paid equally for her role in “Meet the Fockers,” compared to her male co-stars. “I was in the time when women were getting paid less than the men,” she said.

When asked about the possibility of performing live again, Streisand hesitated, saying she doubted she would but could not rule it out completely. She also reflected on her hopes for the future, expressing sadness about current global events and the state of U.S. politics, but said she hoped to see a woman president in her son’s lifetime.

Streisand remains engaged with her work, her family, and her legacy, stating that, despite her shyness and preference for the recording studio, she loves making music.
