Bond 26 Is Coming — But the New 007 Actor Reveal Will Take Time

Plans for James Bond 26 are finally moving forward, but fans will have to wait longer to find out who the next 007 will be. A new report suggests that Amazon MGM, which now controls the Bond franchise, has set a clear timeline for the movie’s development.

According to reporter Matthew Belloni, Amazon MGM executives, along with new producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman, plan to find a director this summer. After that, they will work on completing the script. Only when the script is ready will they choose the next James Bond actor.

Several big-name directors are reportedly being considered, including Edward Berger, Denis Villeneuve, Edgar Wright, Jonathan Nolan, and Paul King.

This move means that casting rumors about who will replace Daniel Craig are still just speculation. Producers want to shape the story first before making a final choice on the next Bond. The chosen director will also help decide who gets the role.

While this careful planning may frustrate some fans, it shows that Amazon wants to get the next chapter of James Bond right. With the franchise undergoing major changes after the departure of longtime producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, the stakes are higher than ever.

The wait for Bond 26 is expected to be the longest gap between Bond movies, beating the six-year waits seen in the past. But given how important the next Bond actor will be for the future of the franchise, it’s clear they don’t want to rush.

For now, the world will have to remain patient as Amazon works to shape the future of 007.
