Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, known for playing Lily on the hit TV show Modern Family, has publicly come out as bisexual. The 18-year-old shared the news on her official social media accounts over the weekend, just in time for Pride Month.

Aubrey posted a funny clip from Modern Family where her character Lily says, “No, I’m not, I’m gay! I’m gay!” She added a caption saying, “People keep joking so much about me being gay when I literally am (I’m bi).” She also wished everyone a happy Pride Month.

Fans quickly showed their support and called her a “bi icon.” Many praised Aubrey for being true to herself and celebrated her bravery. One fan wrote, “Aubrey knew who she was from a very young age,” while another said, “Lily was telling the truth all along.”

Aubrey joined Modern Family when she was just four years old. The show was praised for its positive portrayal of LGBTQ+ families. Her character Lily is the adopted daughter of Mitch and Cam, a gay couple played by Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet.

The show also made history by casting Jackson Millarker, the first openly transgender child actor on a major scripted TV series.

For many fans, Aubrey’s coming out feels like a meaningful moment. It reflects how much she has grown and how much the world and TV have changed.
