Grizzly Bear (indie-rock band)

Indie-rock band Grizzly Bear is returning to the stage for the first time in six years. The group will tour North America this autumn with seven concerts across major cities.

The tour starts on October 13 in Brooklyn, New York, with a special three-night run at Brooklyn Steel. After New York, the band will perform in Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and finish on November 19 in Oakland, California.

Although Grizzly Bear never officially broke up, they have been mostly inactive since their last album, Painted Ruins, came out in 2017. During this time, each member worked on solo projects. Ed Droste studied psychology and worked as a therapist, while also collaborating with other musicians.

Daniel Rossen released a solo album in 2022 and teamed up with drummer Chris Bear on the soundtrack for the Oscar-nominated movie Past Lives. Chris Bear also played drums for Fleet Foxes and developed a solo project called Fools. Multi-instrumentalist Chris Taylor has focused on producing music for various artists.

The band calls this tour a continuation of their journey, not a reunion. They have not announced any long-term plans beyond these shows.

Grizzly Bear 2025 North American Tour Dates:

  • October 13–16: Brooklyn Steel, Brooklyn, NY
  • November 8: Salt Shed, Chicago, IL
  • November 12: Shrine Auditorium, Los Angeles, CA
  • November 18: The Warfield, San Francisco, CA
  • November 19: Fox Theater, Oakland, CA

Fans can expect a mix of classic songs and new material as Grizzly Bear reconnects with their audience.
