Drake Ends Legal Dispute with iHeartMedia, Focus Shifts to UMG Battle

Drake has officially settled his legal conflict with iHeartMedia, putting an end to a potential lawsuit that was initially filed in Texas.

The rapper’s legal team confirmed that both sides have agreed to a settlement, though the details remain undisclosed.

According to a statement from Drake’s team, the settlement was “amicable” and satisfactory for both parties involved.

This resolution comes at a crucial time for iHeartMedia, which is currently under investigation by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for alleged payola activities, specifically boosting artist spins to influence the lineup for iHeart’s country festival.

While nothing has been confirmed, the FCC has suggested that any proof of such actions would be classified as “payola.”

While Drake has now put the iHeartMedia dispute behind him, he continues to move forward with his legal battle against Universal Music Group (UMG).

The rapper has filed a defamation lawsuit against UMG over allegations related to Kendrick Lamar’s diss track “Not Like Us.”

Drake claims the record label knowingly promoted the song, which damaged his reputation, particularly after its exposure during the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show.

Drake’s legal team is eager to continue the case, fearing further harm to his career if proceedings are delayed.
