Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Fails New Drop Tests—Here’s What Happened

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra has undergone another round of drop tests, and this time, it did not hold up well.

Unlike previous tests done by hand, these new tests used robotic machines to drop the phone onto concrete from a height of 6 feet (182 cm).

How Did It Perform?

When dropped on its front, the screen shattered completely, and the display stopped working, making the phone unusable.

When dropped on its side, the titanium frame got scratched and dented, but the buttons remained functional.

When dropped on its back, the rear glass shattered, but the phone was still operational.

What About Samsung’s Gorilla Armor 2?

Samsung uses Gorilla Armor 2 on the S25 Ultra, and Corning claims it can survive drops from up to 7 feet 2 inches (2.2 meters).

However, their tests were done on a “concrete-like” surface, which may explain the difference in results.

Should You Be Worried?

While these results show that the Galaxy S25 Ultra is not indestructible, most users won’t drop their phones from such heights regularly.

Still, if you tend to drop your phone often, using a protective case might be a good idea.
