Samsung’s One UI 7 brings a wave of innovative features, with the Display Assistant Beta app standing out as a key addition.
Found under Galaxy Labs, this app offers advanced screen personalization options, enabling users to fine-tune brightness settings, reduce eye strain with Curtain Mode, and lock specific apps to a 60Hz refresh rate for better battery performance.
The app also includes a one-click screen-on feature that keeps the display active for 30 minutes, perfect for uninterrupted content viewing.
Currently, Display Assistant Beta is available for Galaxy S24 devices running One UI 7 Beta, with a stable release expected in early 2025.
Another exciting change in One UI 7 is the redesigned battery icon. The new horizontal layout improves visibility and introduces dynamic animations that adapt to charging and power-saving modes.
When the battery drops below 20%, the icon turns red, providing a clear low-power alert. Additionally, the charging animation has been updated with a sleek, modern design, adding a fresh touch to the user experience.
Samsung has also enhanced app organization with the introduction of large folders. This feature allows users to expand app folders, displaying up to eight apps without needing to open them.
It simplifies home screen navigation and reduces clutter, making it easier to access frequently used apps. Users can toggle between enlarged and standard folder sizes with a simple tap-and-hold action.
Looking ahead, Samsung plans to release One UI 7 Beta 3 on December 23, 2024. This update is expected to expand the beta program to more devices, including the Galaxy S23 series and Z Flip 6, while also addressing bugs and refining UI elements.
The stable One UI 7 update promises to bring even more features and improvements, ensuring a seamless experience for Galaxy users.
