Xiaomi may soon bring back its own laptop lineup, according to recent comments from the company’s public relations head.
Wang Hua, the Public Relations General Manager at Xiaomi Group, confirmed that Xiaomi has not abandoned its laptop plans.
He mentioned, “Yes, Mr. Lu said that Redmi has done a good job in notebooks, and we will consider Xiaomi notebooks later.”
Lu Weibing’s Vision for Xiaomi Laptops
Xiaomi President Lu Weibing also added that once Redmi’s laptop products are more refined, Xiaomi will consider revisiting its laptop business.
Redmi laptops have gained popularity by offering a good balance of performance, portability, and battery life. It seems Xiaomi is focused on perfecting the Redmi lineup before bringing laptops back under its own brand.
Redmi Book 16 2025 Launch
As part of this strategy, the Redmi Book 16 2025 is now available for pre-order. Set to debut at the Turbo 4 New Product Launch Conference early next year, this laptop will feature some impressive upgrades:
- New Intel Core Processor: Enhanced performance.
- AI Scheduling for Long Battery Life: Up to 19.05 hours of runtime.
- Xiaomi HyperOS 2 Compatibility: Seamless integration with Xiaomi devices.
- Xiaomi HyperZhilian Support: Smart interconnectivity with other Xiaomi products.

Xiaomi’s Past Laptop Models and Service Discontinuation
Xiaomi’s earlier laptop models, including the Xiaomi Notebook Air and Xiaomi Gaming Laptop series, reached the end of their product lifecycle in 2024.
Xiaomi announced in June 2024 that repair services for these models would cease from May 31, 2024.
Future Outlook
As Redmi continues to thrive in the laptop market, Xiaomi is likely focusing on refining its ecosystem through Redmi before reintroducing its own laptop line.
If Xiaomi returns to the laptop market, it’s expected to bring more innovative products with deeper integration into the Xiaomi ecosystem, all while offering competitive pricing.
For now, Redmi remains the front-runner in Xiaomi’s notebook efforts, setting the stage for a potential strong comeback for Xiaomi-branded laptops.
