Windows 11 24H2 Update Crashes Ubisoft Games: Microsoft Pauses Rollout

Microsoft has paused updates for Windows 11 version 24H2 on PCs that have certain Ubisoft games installed, following reports of crashes in titles like Star Wars Outlaws and several Assassin’s Creed games.

The issues emerged after users updated to the latest version, with some games becoming unresponsive during startup, loading, or gameplay, while others experienced black screens.

Affected games include Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Assassin’s Creed Origins, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Star Wars Outlaws, and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

Microsoft confirmed the compatibility issue in a recent update and is working with Ubisoft to resolve it. While Ubisoft has issued a temporary hotfix for Star Wars Outlaws, players may still experience performance problems.

Until a permanent solution is available, Microsoft advises users to avoid manually installing the Windows 11 24H2 update.
