Nothing has shared a video detailing the creation of a theoretical smartphone based on YouTuber MKBHD’s dream device.
The phone would feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, a 6,000mAh battery, and the rear cameras from the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
The phone would have a 6.1-inch OLED display (120Hz LTPO, QHD+), 1TB of storage, and 16GB of RAM. It would also include 65W wired and 15W wireless charging.
For cameras, MKBHD requested the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s rear cameras and the Pixel 9 Pro’s 50MP selfie camera.
The bill of materials (BOM) for this device totals $500. However, this figure doesn’t include other important costs like R&D, marketing, or profit margins.
The R&D process alone could cost around $20 million, according to Nothing. Additional costs such as staff for software updates and premium production expenses would also be significant.
The renders created by Concept Central show a sleek design, but interestingly, the phone lacks the Glyph lighting system that is a signature feature of Nothing’s existing phones.
Despite its thin profile, the phone includes a 6,000mAh battery and a quad rear camera system.
