Valve’s highly anticipated Steam Controller 2, also known as the Steam Duke due to its large size, has been leaked, showcasing a completely reworked design. The image, shared by Bradley Lynch, was reportedly found in recent SteamVR driver updates.

The new controller, codenamed “Ibex,” seems to build on the layout of the Steam Deck, featuring two joysticks between the d-pad and ABXY buttons.

However, the standout feature is the inclusion of two touchpads, which have been rotated inwards for a more ergonomic feel.

The controller appears to be significantly larger than most modern wireless controllers, earning it the “Steam Duke” nickname, a nod to the infamous Xbox Duke controller.

While it’s clear that the Ibex controller is set to support virtual reality experiences and could pair with Valve’s upcoming Deckard headset, details about its full specifications remain scarce.

The Steam Controller 2 represents Valve’s next step in refining gaming hardware for its ecosystem, with a focus on bringing the beloved touchpad feature back into the mix.
