A senior diplomat from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is facing scrutiny after her name appeared in nearly 500 emails exchanged with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Hind Al-Owais, currently the Director of the UAE Permanent Committee for Human Rights, was linked to approximately 469 emails sent between 2011 and 2012. The correspondence surfaced during the ongoing review of Epstein files by U.S. lawmakers.
The emails reportedly include scheduling arrangements in which Al-Owais suggested introducing Epstein to her sister. In one message from October 2011, she wrote: “My sister is here and I have talked a lot about you to her… I want her to meet you.”
Another email added: “I am so excited to see you and introduce you to my sister—she is even prettier than me!!!!!” In January 2012, Al-Owais responded to Epstein’s request to push a meeting back, saying: “Getting one girl ready is difficult enough, two girls, you can certainly call a challenge.”
Some online reports have speculated the sister may have been 13 at the time, though the released files do not officially confirm her age. Epstein’s calendar also noted flight details and potential weekend plans involving the diplomat through May 2012.
The revelations have drawn widespread attention online, given Al-Owais’s prominent career in human rights and women’s empowerment. She previously served as a Senior Advisor to the UAE President’s Office at the UN, focusing on gender equality and women’s issues. Social media users have criticized the apparent contrast between her professional roles and her interactions with Epstein.
No formal charges have been filed against Al-Owais. The U.S. Department of Justice has not commented on her specific involvement, and UAE authorities have remained silent.
Al-Owais is among several Emirati figures linked to the Epstein files, including Dubai port executive Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem. Advocates continue to demand the release of fully unredacted documents to ensure accountability for high-profile individuals connected to Epstein.
