tvOS 18.2 Update Removes Apple TV+ Screen Savers, Focus on Snoopy

The upcoming tvOS 18.2 update, expected for release in December, will bring a rotating selection of Snoopy-themed screen savers to Apple TV models from 2021 and later.

However, Apple has quietly removed a planned “TV and Movies” screen saver category, which was to include visuals from popular Apple TV+ series and films.

Apple had previously previewed these TV+ screen savers, including one based on the hit series Foundation. But in mid-November, the company removed all references to the “TV and Movies” screen savers from its website, including the Foundation preview.

The fine print on Apple’s website has now been updated to reflect only the addition of the Snoopy screen saver, leaving fans of Apple TV+ series wondering when, or if, the other screen savers will arrive.

Despite Snoopy being part of Apple TV+ content, it appears that other Apple TV+ screen savers won’t be included in tvOS 18.2.

The update, which is already available in its third beta version, will still include the rotating Snoopy screen saver, alongside other familiar categories like Aerials and Memories. The Portraits option, added in tvOS 18.0, also now includes clocks.

While the delay of the “TV and Movies” screen savers may disappoint some users, it highlights Apple’s shifting focus, at least for now, towards Snoopy as the main attraction in this update.
