The Last of Us Part 2 may finally be making its way to PC in 2025, according to a reliable leak.
French publication Dealabs user Billbil-kun, who has accurately leaked PlayStation news in the past, claims the PC version is essentially finished but is potentially being held back to coincide with the release of Season 2 of HBO’s popular The Last of Us TV series adaptation next year.
The Last of Us Part 2 launched exclusively for the PlayStation 4 in June 2020 to critical acclaim, before getting a remastered version on PlayStation 5 in January 2024. A PC port would fall in line with Sony’s recent strategy of bringing its major first-party, single-player games to PC after a period of console exclusivity.
The original The Last of Us made its way to PC and Steam in March 2023, over three years after its PS4 remastered release. If Part 2 follows a similar path, a March 2025 launch could line up with the reported second season of the HBO show.
Sony has not officially announced a PC version of The Last of Us Part 2 yet. The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
While The Last of Us Part 2 would be a big get for PC gaming, it likely won’t match the record-breaking success of this year’s live service shooter Helldivers 2, which launched simultaneously on PlayStation 5 and PC to become the fastest-selling PlayStation game ever at 12 million copies in just 12 weeks.
