SpaceX has significantly expanded the availability of its more affordable Starlink Residential Lite satellite Internet plan, now offering it in over 30 U.S. states—more than double the original 15 states covered. This move makes lower-cost satellite internet access accessible to many more Americans.
The Residential Lite plan costs $80 per month for unlimited data, which is notably cheaper than Starlink’s standard $120/month offering.
While the plan features deprioritized data—meaning it may not reach peak speeds during network congestion—SpaceX guarantees speeds between 50 Mbps and 100 Mbps, which is sufficient for most users’ daily needs at this price.
The plan uses the Starlink Standard Kit for connectivity, which remains cheaper than the newer Starlink Mini dish available on Amazon for $299.
Recent coverage expansions include large parts of Texas, California, Alaska, and the entire state of New York. Pennsylvania is also seeing increased availability. However, the plan still isn’t offered in Florida or many states in the South Atlantic and East South Central regions.
With this expansion, more customers across the U.S. can enjoy affordable, reliable satellite internet service, especially in areas with limited traditional broadband options.
