Star Wars Battlefront 3, once cancelled before fans could fully experience it, has resurfaced in a new leak. Free Radical Archive (FRA) has uncovered a working build of the Nintendo Wii version, dated just a week before its cancellation.

Using this incomplete version, FRA recreated the original Battlefront 3 trailer, offering fans a glimpse of what could have been. While the game’s development was halted, FRA plans to polish the build with mods and release all available content for free.

The video showcases the beloved intergalactic combat that made the Battlefront series a fan favorite. Aerial battles, ground skirmishes, lightsaber duels, and massive warfare across iconic Star Wars locations are all featured.

The video highlights the scope and ambition of the game, making it clear why fans were heartbroken when it was cancelled.

The reasons behind Battlefront 3’s cancellation remain unclear. Some claim Free Radical missed development deadlines, while others suggest LucasFilm Games ran out of budget and pulled the plug.

Regardless, the cancellation left fans devastated, especially after the success of Star Wars Battlefront 2. Despite earlier builds leaking online, it was clear the game was near completion before its untimely end.

The Battlefront series had reached new heights with Star Wars Battlefront 2, and fans were eagerly awaiting a sequel. However, the game’s cancellation left fans without closure.

The series was revived in 2014 by DICE with the release of Star Wars Battlefront, but after 2017’s Battlefront 2, the series has remained dormant.

A remaster of the original games, Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection, was released in March 2024. However, issues with the online multiplayer features hampered its success. Despite updates improving the experience, many fans have returned to the original games instead.

For Star Wars fans, this leak is a gift. The playable version of Battlefront 3 offers a chance to relive the epic battles of Kashyyyk, Kamino, and Mos Eisley, bringing back memories of the game that defined many childhoods.
