Sony Pictures has officially announced a slight delay for the highly anticipated Spider-Man 4 movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Fans will have to wait a bit longer to see Tom Holland’s return as Peter Parker.
New Spider-Man 4 Release Date
The release date for Spider-Man 4 is now set for July 31, 2026, which is a one-week delay from its original slot of July 24, 2026.
This slight change places the release almost three months after the anticipated Avengers: Doomsday, which is rumored to feature Spider-Man in some capacity as well.
What We Know About Spider-Man 4
While the plot details for Spider-Man 4 remain under wraps, Tom Holland shared a few insights during recent talk show visits, teasing that the film will be “different” from what fans might expect.
In September, Destin Daniel Cretton, best known for directing Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, was in negotiations to direct the film, taking over from Jon Watts, who directed the previous Spider-Man entries.
Cretton had been tapped to direct Avengers: The Kang Dynasty but exited the project shortly before Jonathan Majors‘ firing from Marvel.
