Samsung’s Ballie, a smart home robot first introduced at CES 2020, is officially becoming a real product.

At CES 2025 in Las Vegas, Samsung announced that the rolling yellow robot would ship later this year in the US, though pricing and exact release details remain unknown.

Ballie now comes equipped with a built-in projector, allowing it to stream content and display information on various surfaces.

Demonstrations showed Ballie projecting the Uncharted movie onto a wall and even adjusting the screen size by locating a larger wall. The robot also features built-in speakers for audio.

Interactive Features
Ballie combines voice commands with innovative sensor technology. Users can interact through “foot presses” on virtual buttons to give commands or make selections.

For example, the robot can assist with wine pairings by asking follow-up questions and making recommendations based on user input.

Competition in the Smart Home Market
Ballie faces competition from other smart home robots like Amazon’s Astro, which is sold by invitation for $1,600.

LG and Apple have also shown interest in home robotics, though Apple’s plans remain speculative.

With its advanced features and a focus on smart home integration, Ballie could be a game-changer in the evolving landscape of home automation.
