Samsung has officially introduced a new wave of foldable phones and smartwatches at its Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event, with updates across its Z Fold and Flip lines, the debut of a more affordable Fan Edition foldable, and upgrades to the Galaxy Watch 8 series. Pre-orders are open now, with devices arriving in stores on July 25.
Galaxy Z Fold 7: Thinner, Lighter, and More Durable
Samsung’s new Galaxy Z Fold 7 is the company’s thinnest and lightest foldable phone yet. It measures just 8.9mm when closed and 4.2mm when open, weighing only 215 grams. The device is reinforced with a titanium frame and an improved FlexHinge that helps reduce screen creases.
The Fold 7 features a larger 8-inch AMOLED display, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and a 4,400mAh battery. The phone runs Android 16 with Samsung’s One UI 8.
Camera upgrades include a 200MP main camera, 10MP telephoto lens, and a 12MP ultrawide. It also supports HDR10+ video recording. Samsung removed the S Pen to make the device thinner.
Prices start at $2,000, and the phone is available in blue shadow, silver shadow, jet black, and an online-exclusive mint color.
Galaxy Z Flip 7: Larger Screens, Better AI
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 brings major display and AI improvements. It has a larger 4.1-inch FlexWindow cover screen and a 6.9-inch internal display, both with 120Hz refresh rates and up to 2,600 nits brightness. The bezels are thinner, and the phone is more durable with a new Armor FlexHinge and IP48 rating.
This model is powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 2500 chip with 12GB of RAM and includes a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide, and a 10MP selfie camera. It also supports 10-bit HDR video for improved color.
Available colors include coral red, blue shadow, jet black, and mint. The Flip 7 starts at $1,100.
Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE: Fan Edition Foldable at a Lower Price
Samsung has introduced the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, its first Fan Edition foldable phone, priced from $899. This budget-friendly option reuses the design of last year’s Flip 6 but runs on the Exynos 2400 chip and includes a 3,700mAh battery.
It maintains the 3.4-inch cover screen and 6.7-inch internal display, both protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and rated IP48 for durability. The camera setup includes a 50MP main, 12MP ultrawide, and 10MP internal camera, though it lacks HDR video.
Available in black and white, the Z Flip 7 FE comes with 128GB or 256GB of storage and supports Galaxy AI features.
Galaxy Watch 8 Series: New Health Tools and Brighter Displays
Samsung also launched the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch 8 Classic, both with a thinner squircle design and bright AMOLED displays reaching up to 3,000 nits. The Watch 8 comes in 40mm and 44mm sizes, while the Watch 8 Classic features a rotating bezel and comes in a 46mm version.
Both models ship with Wear OS 6, support Google Gemini AI, and introduce a new antioxidant-level measurement tool using the heart rate sensor.
The Galaxy Watch 8 starts at $350, while the Watch 8 Classic is priced at $500 (Wi-Fi) and $550 (Cellular).
Samsung Wallet Adds Buy Now Pay Later
Samsung also updated its Samsung Wallet platform, announcing a Buy Now Pay Later feature that launches with the Galaxy Z Fold 7. This adds to earlier tools like Tap to Transfer and Instant Installment, expanding Samsung’s digital finance services.
